Tours and Educational Programs

The College Park Aviation Museum offers many different types of group programs and tours. Although the museum is self-guided, structured group tours are available for schools, camps, day care and after care centers, home schoolers, seniors, civic groups and others. Arrangements for group tours must be made ahead of time so we can arrange for the appropriate person to conduct your tour and to make sure it does not conflict with other programs. Group tours are available Monday through Friday. Regularly scheduled guided tours are available on the last Saturday of each month at 11 am and 1 pm and are open to any visitor or group without prior arrangement. Just give us a call at 301-864-6029 to schedule your tour or ask us about our special programs for scouts.

General Information

Any group of 10 or more can request a group tour. Fees for group tours are at a reduced rate of $3 for adults; the rate for children is the regular children's admission of $2. We will work with you to make a tour fit a group's interests as much as possible. Please let us know if you are looking for a particular emphasis. Tours at the College Park Aviation Museum typically last about 45 minutes, but that time can be altered depending on your group's interest.

Cancellation Policy: We understand that emergency cancellations are sometimes made due to inclement weather or school closings. However, if you decide to cancel your reservation, please call the museum at least three weeks in advance. That courtesy will allow us the schedule that date for another group.

Eating Facilities: The College Park Aviation Museum has no indoor eating space. However, during pleasant weather, an outdoor eating area overlooking the airport is available. You are welcome to bring lunches and eat outside. The 94th Aero Squadron restaurant is located on the airport grounds a short walk from the museum.

Transportation: The College Park Aviation Museum has free parking and is Metro-accessible (Green Line - College Park Station). Buses are allowed to park on the back row of our parking lot. They cannot park in the fire lane in front of the museum. Please make bus drivers aware of this.
