Paper Airplane Day Build a paper airplane and test it to see how well it flies. Then compete in our annual paper airplane derby at 3 pm. Saturday, June 18, 12 noon - 4 pm. Free with museum admission.
Exhibit: Over Here & Over There: College Park during World War I
Meet the minds behind our latest exhibit "Over Here and Over There." Explore the development of aircraft, discover how the first military pilots influenced aviation during and after WWI and learn about the role of Prince George's County and its residents during the war.
Art Contest Students grades K-8 will create artwork on the theme of WWI aviation innovation. Artists in high school and older will design propaganda posters that reflect the ideas circulated during that time period. Top entries will be displayed at the museum with prizes awarded to the winners of each category. Deadline Apr. 22; Reception May 22. For more information, visit Field of Firsts.
