Is it possible that artistic changes and development actually provided not just the inspiration, but the belief that man would one day fly? Aviation art has a rich history, but not just globally, there is also a local abundance. The College Park Aviation Museum is offering an artist’s workshop focusing on the juncture of local aviation and art. This workshop is designed to engage local artists with the rich aviation history of Prince George’s County in an effort to produce work that reflects their learning experience. The workshop is five Monday evening classes beginning September 10th and ending October 8th. Final projects for the class will be placed on display in the College Park Aviation Museum at an opening on Friday, November 9th. This workshop is not designed to focus on technique, but rather to inspire and expand the boundaries of local visions of flight. Some materials will be provided and space is limited. Applicants should include three pieces of work with their application. Deadline to apply is August 10th.
